The Belgian insuretech scale-up Qover won the prestigious DIAmond Award during the DIA Conference in Munich. Qover convinced the jury through a live demonstration of how you can build an insuretech business in just 5 minutes. Different insurance services are available in open API’s that can be integrated in any digital platform in a few clicks.
The DIA (Digital Insurance Agenda) Conference brings together the world of insurance and technology, but also shines a light on the most promising solutions for the future of the insurance industry. As always, the DIAmond Award is given to 6 winners chosen amongst 50 handpicked startups from all over the world. The award to Qover was granted after demonstrating the solution in front of a crowd of 1.000 venture capitalists, topentrepreneurs and other insuretech companies.
“We’re extremely proud to have received recognition from the biggest names in the global insurance industry”, say Jean-Charles Velge and Quentin Colmant. “And this only one week after receiving the award for most innovative insuretech company at Insurrection in Lyon. A very nice recognition for our work.”
With a team of 30 (and counting) and offices in London and Brussels, they’re ready to scale up and transform the insurance world as we know it. Due to their technology and unique model, insurances are no longer a huge stack of papers but are processed fully digitally in the form of open API’s. This allows any business to implement insurance services complementary to their products in the digital environment and start selling insurance in a matter of minutes, generating additional revenues.
Winning prizes isn’t everything Qover does, they’re the very first ensuretech scale-up worldwide to have gained a cover holder at Lloyd’s of London and to become strategic partner of Munich Ré. This means the Belgian insuretech develops insurance services while being backed by premium risk carriers. Thanks to a license for 34 European countries they can launch on the French market by the end of this year.
The achievements of Qover have helped the company to raise 9M dollars in funds. The next goal is to become a global player.
