DataCamp, a Belgian start-up that offers online trainings on Data Analysis, just announced that it has secured 1 million dollars in additional private financing. The investment will allow the iMinds’ iStart graduate to launch its new feature – DataCamp Groups -, open new offices and expand the team.
To date, over 300,000 learners from 150 countries and more 500 universities have already used DataCamp’s e-learning platform. The growing popularity of their online courses has recently granted them an additional $1 million seed funding round from Accomplice, bringing their total financing to $2.3 million.
This latest funding round, together with their revenue growth, will enable the company to launch DataCamp Groups. The platform’s new feature increases engagement between team members, thus contributing to a more motivating learning experience, while helping teachers track their students’ progress and see how their skills evolve over time.
The investment will also allow them to open a new office in Cambridge, with plans to double their team over the next several months. This was the second funding secured by DataCamp in the last year. The first one took place in July 2015, from an US investor.
Founded in 2013, DataCamp was one of the start-ups supported through iMinds’ iStart Business Incubation Program. The company has 12 employees working in Europe and North America.
