After winning over some strategic partnerships in Belgium, Opinum raises €1 million to back up its international growth. The new capital comes on top of €2 million raised previously and is led by SRIW Environnement, Sambrinvest, Inventures and Bruno Vanderschueren.
Founded in 2014 and based in Liège, Opinum offers the leading API for creating actionable insights on building and consumption data. Its core product Opisense is a secure web portal that centralises and aggregates data coming from different consumption sources like electricity, gas and water, allowing companies to ensure a more efficient and responsible management of assets.
On the Belgian market side, the startup continues its stronghold position. So, in 2016, Proximus selected Opinum as a strategic partner to manage the consumption data of its 14,000 energy meters. While in 2017, the Province of Brabant Walloon chose Opinum to ensure its Automated Energy Accountancy.
As for the next challenges, the startup is aiming at international growth, particularly in France, the Netherlands and Germany.
"At this point, the question will no longer arise from the merits of our internationalization, but from the 'how'", explains Loïc Bar, founder and CEO of Opinum.
