The British Ambassador Alison Rose met with a select group of Belgian Entrepreneurs to talk over their business visit.
It is no secret that at Startups.be we believe that startups are born global and we are trying to do our best to take Belgian talent to the international scene. Luckily we have many partners who share our mindset and are willing to boost the #BeTech ecosystem too!
Together with UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) and iMinds, we invited the three UKTI pitching competition winners to get feedback from their experience in doing business overseas, their growth plans and their advice for other Belgian startups keen on exploring broader horizons. The encounter was led by HMA Alison Rose who discussed the practical implications and attractiveness of the UK as a market for digital companies.
Besides being a renowned startup hub, the UK wants to support high-growth innovative small companies and link them to trade finance, credit insurance and venture capital. As an exciting business destination, it prides itself on being open to international endeavours and cutting red tape to ensure a smooth start.
The pitching competition that initiated the trip was hosted at the British Chamber back in March and it provided the winning startups OJOO, Esperity and Hello Customer with a tailored visit to fast-track their approach to the UK market.
