The acquisition of Riiot Labs by the Spanish multinational group Fluidra concludes a collaboration that has already begun a few months ago. While for The Faktory, a Liège-based incubator, it’s the first successful startup exit.

Founded in 2015, Riiot Labs developed and industrialized Blue, the first smart device for testing and analyzing the quality of pool water. In 2017, The Faktory took four startups from Liège to Las Vegas, where Riiot Labs took away the 'smart home' prize during the CES Innovation Awards.

It's worth noting that, despite the acquisition, Riiot Labs maintains its activities in Belgium and continues the products’ research, development and customer support as before. The only change will be a greater synergy with Fluidra during the process. Moreover, the Spanish company becomes the main distributor, notably in Benelux, France and Spain.

Benjamin Stévens, CEO of Riiot Labs, is pleased to complete Fluidra's portfolio and explains, "This is the beginning of a new chapter for our young company. We are delighted to start the development of innovative projects for tomorrow’s connected pool."
